Dr Martens Jara Boots
Dr Martens Jara Boots are the ugliest boots I have seen in years. What confluence of “features” make the Dr. Martens Jara “not work” in my eyes? Let me see if I can dissect its badness gestalt.
Dr Martens Jara is a womens mid-calf biker boot, or rather trying to be an engineer/biker boot. So why is the toecap cut like a brogue? Seems not quite right. Also, if I were buying a boot of this style, I would want it to have a traditional hard sole, like a real engineer boot. The Dr Martens traditional transparent-y Airwair sole on the Jara Boot looks misplaced. However, a comfortable rubber sole is much better on the knees, especially for an urban boot. My third complaint is that the top opening looks so loose and flappy! Now with this all in the open, I will say I love the three silver buckles on the side straps with their small cross shapes– that is some nice hardware. The Dr. Martens Jara might be exactly right for you if you like punkrock looks circa 1975-1992. And if you plan to be tough and pound the pavement the Dr Martens Jara will be better on your feet and knees than any factory boot or traditional engineer boot. However, watch yourself if you are planning on kicking anything…the Dr. Martens Jara boot does not feature steel toes.
