Puma Roma 68 Vintage

July 21st, 2010 kingsy 1 comment

With its roots in the sixties the Puma Roma 68 Vintage is a modern mens trainer but one that still has a classic Italian retro look.

Originally introduced in 1968, Puma designed this trainer as a tribute to the Italian national football team after they won the European Championship. In 2010 Puma has updated this shoe for a modern day appeal.

The Puma Roma 68 Vintage black/white trainer has a smooth leather upper, contrast curves, white laces and tipped midsole. Tonal suede panels across the front lead to a black rubber guard to protect toes against knocks. Or choose the Roma 68 Vintage white/black colour combo for a brighter step.

Both feature gold ‘Roma 68’ branding, an embroidered Puma cat and Puma logo. All set off with the low profile sole for a cool retro look.

The Puma Roma 68 Vintage mens trainer is a sleek, simple trainer but one that has Italian style stamped all over it.

Puma 917 Pop Art Lo aka Puma 917 Factory Lo – optical illusion Puma trainer!

December 6th, 2009 Miss H No comments

Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, or Charles B. Schultz won’t have anything on you when you’re sporting the Puma 917 Factory Pop Art Lo Trainer! Puma 917 looks like a drawing of a shoe…it’s pixellated! Trompe de l’Oeil Puma 917 Factory Lo looks like a drawing in motion on your feet!

Puma 917 ‘Pop Art’ Factory Lo

The 917 is a classic motorsport inspired lo cut retro trainer made famous by the 1971 Steve McQueen movie Le Mans. This slim trainer will add flair to any ensemble, casual or no. I can’t get over how the Puma 917 Pop Art looks like, well, pop art! It’s as if your shoes were animated and you remain “real life”. Puma is always a great one for style and they’ve really outdone themselves with the creativity of the 917 Factory Pop Art Lo. For example, here is the Puma 917 Pop Lo in grey and yellow:

That particular colour/model of the Puma 917s reminds me so much of Roy Lichtenstein’s art:

Other colours of the Puma 917 Pop Art Factory Lo have more of an airbrushed quality reminiscent of graffiti art. Suffice it to say that no matter what colour scheme you choose, you not only get a cool shoe, but also a conversation piece~ something unique that not everyone else will have.

The Puma 917 Factory Lo would make a great gift for that guy that has everything, or is iconoclastic enough you have no idea what to buy him. Find out his shoe size and get him the Puma 917 Factory Pop Lo!
