Genuine UGG Boots and fake UGG websites

UGG Australia has recently published an explicit counterfeit warning regarding Genuine UGG Boots on the official UGG Australia website. The full details on UGG Australia’s website are here.

The UGG Australia warning contains some helpful clarification which can assist in the identification of fake UGG websites – that is websites claiming or appearing to claim their product is genuine UGG Australia boots when in fact the products are fake Chinese UGGs.

I quote “If you are viewing UGG® Australia product on-line anywhere other than uggaustralia.com and the domain name includes “UGG”, or any variation of this word, or includes one of our style names in the domain address, e.g. “Cardy”, this product is most certainly counterfeit.”

A good proportion of the fake UGG websites we have identified so far on this blog do have the word UGG in the domain name so this clarification from UGG Australia marks them out definitively as fake UGG websites.

With the help of my blog readers I have now identified 422 fake UGG websites. You’ll find the full list on my original fake UGGs post.

The other two pieces of news I have on the subject of Genuine UGG Boots vs fake UGGs came from the London firm of lawyers appointed by Deckers / UGG Australia to enforce their trademarks within Europe. They got in touch with me recently and thanked me for identifying fake UGG sites (credit goes to those who responded to my initial post on the subject).

UGG Australia’s lawyers are now trying to get these fake UGG sites removed from Google search results. If you have noticed the message “In response to a complaint we received under the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act, we have removed 1 result(s) from this page. If you wish, you may read the DMCA complaint that caused the removal(s) at ChillingEffects.org.” in the search results – this is a result of complaints made on behalf of UGG Australia. UGG Australia are focusing initially on websites that are using some of the stock images to mis-represent their products i.e. UGG Australia images on fake UGG websites.

The second thing is that Google have now stopped companies using the terms UGG and UGG Australia in the Google adwords (sponsored Ads) system unless they have been pre-approved as genuine UGG Australia stockists/retailers. Speaking to some retailers this has meant a frustrating delay on getting their own legitimate Ads approved. Also looking at the sponsored ads returned for common search phrases like uggs, ugg boots, ugg boots sale and cheap ugg boots shows that the fake site have just adapted their text to circumvent the new Google trademark infringement rules. It seems they can use UGG in the middle of a word so they are using combined terms like ukugg, australianugg, 09ugg etc to tempt people to click their ads.

As I’ve said before this is all depressing stuff and means that this coming winter, like last year, thousands of customers will be ripped off by Chinese fake UGG sites and although some steps have been taken by Google and UGG Australia, it shows just how difficult it is to stop internet fraud when the fraudsters are so determined and well resourced.

The only solution is to educate people that there are tons of fake sites out there and that to avoid being ripped off and they should purchase their Genuine UGG Austalia Boots only through suppliers they know and trust.

If you want to read more on this subject then please check out my fake UGG boots post.

Regarding uggs-shops.com: I have also been a victim of FAKE UGGS! I am so frustrated I even thought about ordering these online!!! I placed an order for UGG boots yesterday via the website uggs-shops.com. When I never received an order number or email stating they had received my order I started to get suspicious. The payment was deducted from my paypal account immediately. I checked the domain of the website. I determined the website was set up less than a month ago and does not list a physical address but apparently the business is in HONG KONG. Several hours after placing the order, I contacted the company via LIVE CHAT and asked for a full refund. I was asked why I wanted a refund and I explained I was under the impression I was purchasing authentic UGG boots. The representative was using poor English in her discussion with me and kept telling me “not to worry” – the boots were authentic. She asked me for certain paypal information which of course I did not give to her! She then told me her manager would have to approve the refund as was “out at the moment”. She told me I would be charged a $25 handling fee since they had “handled my parcel”. I continued to demand a full refund within 24 hours but was told I would receive a refund minus the $25 handling fee in 24 hours. I doubt this will ever happen. I can’t believe people are really this dishonest and make a career out of scamming honest hard-working people. I am out $100. ARGH!

My sister ordered a pair of ugg boots from jumbouggonline.com on 16th October, she has received nothing so far. The website is very dodgy, if I had been there at the time I would never have let her order from them! There is no telephone number, just a contact us email page, she has sent numerous emails and has received no reply. It says on the website that the payment was taken by paypal, but she has not received one single piece of communication either from the website nor paypal since she ordered them. The payment was taken from my mums account the next day and has definitely went to someone in China.
My sister is only 15 and has saved up for weeks to buy these!
I don’t know if there is any chance of getting anything back from the bank?!?
    Any suggestions?

I purchased some uggs boots this morning from uggs-australiauk.com thinking they were the geniune article. However I have since done a search on this website only to find reports that the items they sale are infact counterfeit!! What a scam!!! It seems like this ‘company’ is based in China somewhere. I’ve just tried to cancel my order and demand a full refund so fingers crossed. I’m not feeling very optimistic. And since I paid by debit card the transaction cannot be refunded by my bank. What a nightmare!!!

uggaustraliauk.com Is also a fake site. I purchased online and like many of you only found this site when it was too late. Im now out £78 with a pair of awfully stitched boots that stink of chemicals and the owner of the site is chinese with 148 other web domains.

Sent a nasty email but no word back. Guess Iv been ripped off and nothing I can do as it isn’t a UK site so they cannot be prosecuted under our law.

They want a 15% restocking fee and me to pay the shipping charges. Think I’ll just wait and see what happens.

Hi I bought a pair of UGGS from uggoutletstore.net they took 3 weeks to come from China. When they arrived they are not sheepskin and fake fur lining. They sent a childs boot! i’m only a size 4 but couldn’t get my foot in it, so my daughter has worn them twice, they have fell apart! the top of the boot has come away and all the stitching has come apart, so you can see all the fake padding inside the boot. I have complained and now they have changed their website so i’m £65 pounds worse off! Also they were advertised as £56 but they took £65!

Regarding uggboots.com: I ordered a pair of Ugg Classic Tall boots for my daughter. When I realized the boots were
coming from China I figured I was scammed. They arrived today but the wrong style and they are fakes. I am so upset. I paid $123.00 for these on a credit card and am worried about further charges posting to my account. The package arrived all smashed and the company name and information on return address is in Chinese. When I e-mailed the website billingcustomersupport.com to say I received the wrong boots I received an e-mail back stating undeliverable e-mail. I’ve been scammed. I’m going to call my credit card company to dispute the charge on my account.

Michelle :Yes I bought some UGG boots from – buyuggbootsnow – which are probably not real sheepskin even ! I am pursuing a refund , and their Customer services are in denial of their Fakery ! Pay Pal have not been able to help as my complaint against this website is new – i feel so upset and angry – and of course I would not like an exchange ! I was mad to believe half price – but I thought as a factory direct sale it was possible – Everyone not already stung beware – Sympathy to other’s like me rather too trusting ! Bad Karma to the deceivers !

    @Michelle

I also used this website – not only are they fake they also sent me the wrong boots – style and size….I cannot even find the original website. Which set alarm bells ringing loudly.
I have informed my Mastercard company and Paypal. Paypal have already responded stating thar as they ’sent’ an item they cannot help me; which seems madness. I just hope the Mastercard company may be able to help, although it seems to be a grey area as it is not only that I have now found out they are fake, I have the totally wrong item!
    Makes you feel angry indeed.

I ordered some ugg boots from UK-UGG-BOOTS.com and it took my to a different websitepickdvdmovie.com; the flags should have raised then however i wasn’t aware this kind of thing was happening. I received the fake boots and have tried to contact them i cant even send them back as the return address is in chinese and they have no return address on there website. I will be disputing this through my bank and i have reported to the necersary authorities.

Regarding buyuggsboot.net: I believe I have been scamed by a website that is listed under many different web addresses. I found the same site under uggaustraliaboot.com and under newstyleuggboots.com. This is so frustrating I have not recieved my boots but my main concern is my credit card. Should I cancel it to be safe? ARe these companies running up credit cards. I never order off the internet and this is why. I was so hesitent and even had some savy friends check it out. But apparently that was not enough.

I purchsed a pair of “ugg” boots from a website on the 12th Nov. When I went to go through with the payment using my partners card nothing happened. My partner hit the back button returning to the shopping basket and we tried again with my card this time getting through to verified by visa but the process didn’t go any further than this and we assumed we had been unsuccessful so we closed the tab on the website.

Imagine our surprise the next day when we noticed bootsaleuk.com had removed 2 seperate payments of £54.99 from our account. I thought this odd but just thought ok I will get 2 pairs of boots and sell one on. (being optimistic)

A week later and I had heard nothing, no emails, no tracking numbers-Nothing!!

I started to panic and called my bank, I was all in a state and I think they took pity on me!! Our cards had to be cancelled and thankfully we have had a full refund throught the bank!!!

I emailed about 20 sites hoping for a responce from someone but heard nothing so imagine my surprise yesterday when a parcel turned up via parcel force….. I turned down the Parcel refusing to sign for it although I must admit I was tempted to sign. I have since had a letter to ask when they can redeliver the parcel and now I don’t know what to do. Dare I risk signing for a pair of FAKE Uggs getting them for free or can this company who ever they may be do anything to get their money back from me.

I don’t really know the website they came from, I haven’t got any comfirmation of anything. what shall I do??

    @allison
Don’t sign for them!!, when the bank has refunded you they claim the money from who ever charged your card, then they who charged your card have 60 days to proove you’ve had goods, I used to work for a bank and I thought I had more sense but recently got conned with a free trial for some slimming aid, and in the T&C’s ( that didn’t actually come up due to errors on the webpage) by giving my debit card details I had “agreed” to allow them to take further subscriptions to 3 different things!!!!
So be very careful the web is full of crooks!

Has anyone come across a website name wowuggboots.co.uk. Its not the same as wowuggbootssale.com. I purchased boots and paid for them, now the website has closed down and my money has been taken out of my account. I have been in touch with the e-mail address provided from the web page and they have given me a tracking number and a website to check it on stating on the bottom of the e-mail ‘dont worry’….but i do!!! anyone else used the website and if so did your order arrive?

Hi all – my turn to be ripped off; I bought from goodugg.co.uk; tried to find out when they would be delievered, the website is no longer in existance and the email address I have returns as undeliverable.

What amazes me is I was stupid enough to do this all over again on another website uggboots-australia.com thinking this was the real mckoy, only to now not be able to get in touch with anyone nor find out if or when the boots may be delivered….

I have contacted the HSBC in reference to the first transaction and the fraud team are sencing me some forms to fill out and they will then investigate.

These were a christmas present for my daughter, am absolutely gutted. Has anyone else ordered from these sites and actually received anything? right now I would even settle for at least receiving something.

my daughter wanted some ugg boots with her birthday money, so we spent ages looking on websites, not even thinking we would be ripped off, I ordered off uggboots-australia.com but the payment wouldnt go thru, so went to saleuggboots.co.uk and ordered a pair from there and paid by PAYPAL. The next day had an email from uggboots-australia.com to say order now being processed, the money had gone thru on c/c after all. Didnt think too much of it just thought I’d sell one pair. Uggboots australia sent a tracking number staight away and they did arrive yesterday, I have checked EVERYTHING on the them see if fake and I cannot see anything to suggest they are fake as real uggs are made in china anyway BUT the boots from saleuggs.co.uk still haven’t come and their website disappeared so I logged a complaint with PAYPAL, i have since had a tracking number and lots of emails from them requesting removal of complaint which I haven’t done until boots turn up and obviously if fake will persue it further. If I’d of read an of theses problems a few weeks ago, no way would I of ordered online. Saleuggs.co.uk say that they had to closed website due to not paying their taxes to ugg???

hello, my husband bought me two pairs for this xmas on 26th november from wowuggboots.com. I emailed before hand to ask if they were genuine uggs and got a reply back that they were genuine and made in Ugg factory in china, I even went to local shops selling the boots to try my size and checked the tickets inside to see if their uggs were made in china and the lables said yes. I have had several emails from the webiste up until 3rd decmeber with a tracking number and EMS website details – china post service. I have submitted my tracking info and they say they have left customs in china so wether they turn up here is another question. I am gutted, I darent tell my husband they might not arrive. the website has been closed down and they have my debit card details as i dont have a credit card, im going to notify my bank to look out for possible fraud

I bought a paid of uggs from Uggboots-australia.com, they took ages to arrive from China and when they did the stitching was a bit suspect and they werent that fluffy inside by the toes so I looked on the genuine Ugg website and they can advise whether a website is a known counterfeit website or not and this was listed as a known counterfeit website. They provide no details for returns, So i contacted Uggboots-australia.com and here is what was said:

    me: Dear Sirs,

It would appear that i was naive and purchased boots from you under them
impression that they were genuine Ugg boots when they are clearly not. As a
result I would like to return the item for a refund.

However I am not at all happy with the prospect of 15% being deducted as a
re stocking charge as I assumed they were genuine I didn’t consider this
charge as I intended on keeping them. In the circumstances please advise how
i return the item and advise whether the 15% charge can be waived to make my
experience with your site less painful!

    Them:Dear Lauren

Thank you for your email. We only sell genuine ugg boots. All our boots are sent directly from official ugg factory. So could you tell me why you think our boots are fake? Look forward to your reply.

    Sicnerely yours,
    Jenny

    me: Dear Jenny,

Firstly the stitching isn’t consistant and is a bit messy in places, the wooly inside came off on my socks and they are not well insulated at the toes and so I looked into your website and when your address is typed into the official Ugg website it advises “This is a known counterfiet website

    them:Dear Lauren

All our ugg boots are directly sent from ugg factory which is located in China. In fact, the boots you bought in the ugg shop is also sent from the same factory. If there is any problems, pls send us some photos to show it, as well as the package with EMS label. We will try our best to help you. Thanks.

    Best regards,
    Susan

    me:Dear Susan,

I have told you my problem with the boots, the fact that the genuine Ugg website states these are counterfeit is more than enough proof for me. All i need to know is whether or not you will provide an address for me to return them to for a refund.

    them: Dear Lauren

Thanks for your email. I think you must get some wrong information. Our ugg boots are all directly sent from official ugg factory which is located in China, no middle agent between us, so we can sell them in such low price. I have told you that if there is any problem with the boots we sent to you, pls do not hesitate to let us know. Thanks for your understanding and cooperation.

    Best regards,
    Susan

Hi Emma – Yes its true Amazon.co.uk are now an authorised retailer for UGG Australia. This is Amazon themselves (where you get “FREE Super Saver Delivery”) as opposed to Amazon Marketplace which is product offered on Amazon by other retailers.

Hi Danielle – you have made a purchase from uggway? Did you get the boots or was it a scam? I also have made a purchase, and I feel very uneasy now.

so i really wished i found this site earlier… my mom JUST purchased a pair from oneugg.com, it’s not listed on your list of fake sites, but it definition fits the fake site conditions. i am so worried now – that we won’t even get something shipped… we paid 94.50 CAD via paypal. is there anyway to stop it now??? on the site it says that if we wanted to cancel our order, we need to pay 25% cancellation fees… omg, i knew it was too good to be true, but i didn’t get a chance to research till now. UGH…
